We are
entering the sixteenth year of AAPPS Bulletin. Currently, we
publish six issues per year and 5,000 copies per issue for
distributions around the world, about two-thirds in the
Asia-Pacific region and another one-third for institutions and
individuals in the U.S., Canada, Europe, South America, etc. We
conscientiously attempt to make the Bulletin reaching the eyes
of those physicists who may be interested, thereby helping to
bring your contributions to the attention of many people far
beyond your imagination.
The primary task of the Bulletin is to report major
happenings in the physics community defined by the Association
of Asia Pacific Physical Societies (AAPPS), to bring to the
attention of the scientists in the region those events or
activities which take place outside the Asia Pacific region but
which may have important bearings on this community, and to
publish scientific articles which, in our judgment, may interest
physicists worldwide.
Through proper execution of these tasks, it is hoped that the
members in the AAPPS community can understand one another much
more and much better, that they can be understood by those
outside the Asia Pacific region, and that meaningful
international cooperations between them may eventually develop
from there on. We believe that mutual understandings and
international cooperations are in the root of everlasting peace
and prosperity in the Asia Pacific region.
We therefore invite those who share our dream to work
together. We hope that the Bulletin could become one "Physics
Today of Asia."
