abstract
In recent years, non-linear optical methods have been
successfully applied for the imaging of biological specimens and
this development revolutionized many areas of life science
research. In this manuscript, I will describe the key features
associated with multiphoton fluorescence and harmonic generation
microscopy. Specifically, the physics of the multiphoton
processes, the unique advantages of multiphoton imaging, key
features of a multiphoton instrumentation, and applications in
oncology, dermatology, and ophthalmology research will be
presented and discussed.
