Evidence for an S=+1 Pentaquark Baryon (PDF,204KB)
Takashi Nakano,Osaka University, Japan
abstract---
The evidence for a pentaquark particle Θ+ was first observed
at LEPS at SPring-8, Japan. Three international collaborations
in Russia, US, and Germany quickly confirmed the Θ+ with a mass
of 1540 MeV and a narrow width. They are remarkably consistent
with a theoretical prediction by Diakonov, Petrov, and Polyakov.
Further theoretical and experimental study of the Θ+ are in progress
to understand the nature of hadrons. |
